World Congress of Neuroscience

Although by now a mature and established discipline, Brain Research continues to grow and to expand our knowledge on how the brain works, is affected by disease and is modified by drugs and therapeutic interventions.
This knowledge in turn has an increasingly large cultural and economic impact on our society.

Dettagli

EventoEurope gave birth to Brain Research and Neuroscience in the 19th century with the histological studies of Golgi and Ramon y Cajal, the
physiological studies of DuBois-Reymond, Muller and von Helmholtz and the clinico-pathological studies of Broca. Although by now a mature and established discipline, Brain Research continues to grow and to expand our knowledge on how the brain works, is affected by disease and is modified by drugs and therapeutic interventions. A large body of genetic, molecular, cellular, anatomical, neurophysiological, system, comparative, evolutionary, computational and behavioural evidence is being continuously collected, raising new hopes for treatment of disorders and diseases of the nervous system. This knowledge in turn has an increasingly large cultural and economic impact on our society.

After the previous meetings in Prague and in Melbourne, the IBRO International Congress comes back to Europe, its birthplace. The next IBRO International Meeting will be held in Florence, Italy on July 14-18, 2011.
